There’s something magical about Los Angeles. From the iconic Hollywood sign and the star-studded sidewalks, to the endless palm trees reaching into the clear, blue California sky; every corner of the city exudes glitz and glamor. As a result, when I heard that NASPA was holding its 2019 Annual Conference in LA, I knew it was going to be special.

Today, the most prestigious Student Affairs conference in the world began in the most prestigious city in the world and is scheduled to run till March 13th. During that time, over 7400 attendees will participate in over 600 sessions on topics ranging from Socioeconomic & Class Issues in Higher Education to Integrating Data and Research to Support Student Success. As a Platinum Sponsor, Ready Education is well represented with a booth in the exhibitor hall (#419), 3 sessions, a partner-social, a spotlight during the VPSA luncheon, and countless in-person interactions.

Day 1 of the conference took some time to warm up. The first half of the day started off in the exhibitor hall where 169 vendors set up their various booths. All around us, banners, backdrops and multiple giveaways were being setup. The Ready Education team did their part trying to make the Ready Education booth stand out from the crowd. As everyone was setting up, a small sprinkling of attendees came through the exhibitor hall to get a lay of the land. The rest were surely riffling through the conference program, trying to finalize their schedule for the next few days.

The VPSA luncheon took place in the afternoon with over 150 VPs in attendance. Danial Jameel, CEO of Ready Education, took a minute to celebrate the hard work that VPSA’s do on a regular basis, and thanked them for their dedication to student success, both inside and outside the classroom.

The day ended with the Ready Education team going out for a team dinner to Gus’s (World Famous) fried chicken - An opportunity we simply could not turn down! It also allowed us to re-fuel for the busy day ahead.
