Challenges

Craven College maintained a number of solutions which students needed to find the information they required through a set of complicated processes. 

The college understands the value of ed-tech and was aiming to optimize its application landscape with the help of a proven solution that would provide easy access to information.

No Centralization 

Information was built around departments and therefore was separate and varied.

Confusing resource locations

Information wasn’t presented in a way that was user focused. Students were unsure of where to go to find the relevant information.

No Single Place to Provide Support

The Student needs were not served in one place instead through multiple services from various physical and online locations.

With myday, the app and portal by Ready Education, integrating those many disparate systems became an easy reality. Everything a student needs is surfaced in one easy-to-access place, on a smartphone and online.

Craven College needed a solution to resolve its security concerns. All college systems were accessible through their website which leaves it open for anyone and increases the possibility of a data breach.

Having an application shows prospective students that Craven College is a forward-thinking modern institution so, being able to offer a digital solution on a student’s phone was key.

Scope For The Craven College Application

The future area for development with the app and portal for the college is with their apprentices.
 
With the Enhanced subscription tier, they want to improve and streamline their processes for other aspects of the student journey including pre-enrolment and enrolment, such as offering access to the app for their open days.
 
With the Enhanced functionality, they can see exciting possibilities to use My Craven as a recruitment and conversion tool.

Once Craven College implemented My Craven, they could see additional possibilities with the product, such as the ability to recruit students too, as well as making current students’ lives easier with seamless access to information and resource.

The launch of myday at Craven College meant that information is now centralized and presented in a way that is user-focused, it removed separate, varied and duplicated data that had become hard to manage

myday reduced hacking concerns and increased the security of Craven College's application landscape. Craven College achieved this by locking apps behind their myday portal and integrating Office 365 sign-on with MFA. 

Having the app and portal means that not only is
information now streamlined, communications are efficient, timely, and targeted empowering the members of staff to see who has engaged with communications.
