About LSU
Founded in 1979 by 20 Latino men at Livingston College of Rutgers University-New Brunswick, LSU was created by students, for students. While Latino-based, the fraternity is not Latino-exclusive and represents over 100 cultural backgrounds within its brotherhood. LSU’s guiding goals remain:
Academic Excellence
Cultural Awareness & Diversity
Serving as Role Models in the Community
Brotherhood
Unlike traditional fraternities, LSU uses culturally-based names and traditions for its chapters and lines, reflecting the diversity that defines its mission.
Challenges
Before Upsilon Connect, LSU relied on a basic membership management platform that created major barriers to engagement, including:
Members logged in only once a year
Emails were often blacklisted, limiting communication
No mobile app experience
Complicated login and navigation
Reporting was basic
In addition, prior to implementing CampusGroups LSU lacked transparency, relied heavily on word of mouth and email, and had limited access to resources as well as accessibility. The fraternity needed a modern solution that could scale with its growth and deliver a unified member experience.

Solutions
After a two-year evaluation of over 25 platforms, LSU selected CampusGroups as its engagement hub. The platform combines powerful features with member-focused benefits, including:
White-labeled mobile app (iOS & Android) with easy login and navigation
Network directory and chapter-specific groups for stronger connections
Online stores for merchandise, fundraising, and vendors
Customizable homepage with LSU branding
Gamification with badges, leaderboards, and friendly competition
Channel feeds, tailored emailing, push notifications, and forums
Automated workflows, polls, and chapter management tools
Membership dues collection with streamlined financial reporting
Event registration, check-in, and hybrid event support
Resume credentials to track accomplishments and involvement
Professional development, academic resources, and mental health support
Data-driven insights, including email stats and event participation metrics
Greater transparency and resource access across all chapters

Outcomes
Since adopting Upsilon Connect, LSU has seen transformative results:
More than 12 times the number of logins with over 50,000 logins from 693 users between 2024–2025 (vs. 250–400 annual logins the previous year with the old system)
Daily engagement across members nationwide
83% national email open/click rate
Upsilon Connect has become the organization’s central platform, empowering members to access events, join chat rooms, expand networks, and grow both personally and professionally.

Looking ahead, LSU plans to expand its use of the platform with chapter-specific groups, career networks, internal stores, and new communication channels—making Upsilon Connect the digital heartbeat of the brotherhood and a powerful tool for growth.
