About ERAU

Founded in 1926, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is the world’s largest fully accredited institution specializing in aviation and aerospace. With campuses in Daytona Beach, Florida, Prescott, Arizona, and a global online presence, ERAU also offers leading programs in engineering, business, security, and applied sciences.

Using Technology to Strengthen Student Support

ERAU uses CampusGroups by Ready Education to manage the student engagement experience of more than 31,000 residential and virtual learners. On its Daytona Beach, Florida campus, the university leverages CampusGroups to manage the ERAU Food & Resource Pantry, a vital initiative dedicated to supporting the wellbeing of the university’s diverse student body.

Meeting Students’ Basic Needs

The ERAU Food & Resource Pantry serves as a critical lifeline, connecting students with essential resources that address food insecurity and other fundamental needs. By integrating with CampusGroups, the pantry has been able to significantly enhance its outreach, streamline access to its services, and foster a more robust network of support for students.

Reducing Stigma Through Accessibility

A key benefit of using CampusGroups is that it removes the stigma of food insecurity by keeping end user information confidential and making it easy for volunteers to gather food items and other necessities for simple, discreet pickup. Students can browse and choose items, such as meal kits, fresh produce, and hygiene products, directly from their phones. The platform also enables friends or peers to recommend students who may benefit from pantry services, and it facilitates donation of unused food swipes to those in need.

A Model for Student Well-Being

The collaboration between Embry-Riddle and Ready Education exemplifies a forward-thinking approach to student well-being. By leveraging technology to provide accessible and destigmatized support, ERAU is not only addressing immediate student needs but also setting a precedent for comprehensive student engagement within higher education. This initiative underscores ERAU’s commitment to leveraging technology to foster an environment where all students can succeed, both inside and outside the classroom.
